Holy Week Greeting from Conference Superintendent Howard K. Burgoyne

IT’S ALMOST HOLY WEEK…

Here’s a 4.5 minutes video short greeting for Holy Week – I invite you to share it with your congregation as you see fit – perhaps giving the link to them via email – it’s up to you.
It’s here.

In Mark 16:6-8, we hear this witness:

Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’ ”

Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

In this Holy Week, let’s join together, in the midst of fear and facing our fears. Let’s fight the fire of fear with the fire of faith – faith in the message and focus in the mission of Jesus the Nazarene.

Jesus is not only with us – he’s also ahead of us. Wherever we are headed – he’s there.

While your building may be closed, the Church, and Heaven’s Door – are WIDE OPEN.

Yours,

Howard K. Burgoyne
