Ministries

Women Ministries: Connect. Communicate. Inspire. Our mission is to “advance God’s kingdom through women” by building transformational relationships and equipping women to grow, serve, connect, and reach out.  We connect with our women through our website at http://www.eccwomen.org, host an Annual Celebration, hold Fall retreats, and post seasonal newsletters.  The conference Leadership Team coordinates distribution of information within the East Coast Conference about denominational Women Ministries projects such as the current national “Just Women” project, Mending the Soul Ministry, Sisters in International Mission support, Advocates for Victims of Abuse (AVA), and Leadership Coaching efforts.  We support our regional AVA Coordinator, Priscilla Borden; can assist with Leadership Training, and encourage women’s individual and corporate outreach through Compassion, Mercy and Justice projects, and global mission opportunities. Check us out and get involved!

New England Seafarers Mission began in the 1880s with the arrival of the Swedish Covenant Church during the great Scandanavian immigration to the US. We began with a single pastor who worked the waterfront, visiting primarily crews from the many Swedish ships calling in Boston. Over the years, that ministry grew to include people from all over the world. Today, NESM provides services in Boston, Providence, Narragansett Bay, Portsmouth, and Portland. We have professional, paid staff in Providence and Boston, but members of local churches in New Hampshire and Maine have taken on the ministry in those locations.
Pilgrim Pines Conference Center & Camp Squanto is dedicated to providing fantastic programs for campers of all ages. From our children’s and youth camp, to our men’s and women’s conferences, the goal is the same – to create exciting experiences, memorable moments, and a safe place to meet God. Whether it is through our faith-stretching ropes course, phenomenal worship and teaching, unforgettable camp activities, or simply relaxing by the lake, a camping experience at Pilgrim Pines provides a breath of fresh air in the midst of our hectic world. We hope you can join us soon!
Bread for the World Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities in which we live.
The American Church Project - Groundbreaking research based on a national database of over 200,000 churches reveals that the overall population growth rate far outpaces the church’s rate of growth. What does this mean for you, your church, and the future of Christianity in North America ? The American Church in Crisis offers unprecedented access to data that helps you understand the state of the church today. This book not only paints a realistic picture that confirms hunches and explodes myths, but provides insight into how the church must be renewed to reach our changing world with the hope of the gospel.
Evangelicals for Social Action (ESA) is a community of Christians committed to living out their walk with Christ holistically–that is, with the whole of their lives. We hope you’ll find yourself at home at ESA. Consider partnering with us as we bring Christ to our neighbors in word and in deed.
Inspired by Christ’s ministry to the whole person, Word & Deed Network (formerly Network 9:35) envisions every Christian congregation to be engaged actively in holistic ministry – leading people to faith in Christ, restoring community, and working for social transformation. Furthermore, it envisions these congregations working together—with each other, with organizations, and local government—networking—to be able to do holistic ministry more effectively in their communities. We want to see churches connecting together to make a difference in the world.

CHIC 2012 will take place at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville from Sunday, July 15, through Friday morning, July 20. CHIC (Covenant High In Christ) is the triennial youth conference of The Evangelical Covenant Church. CHIC exists to: be a catalyst that inspires Christ-like change; challenge students to see themselves as part of something bigger; inspire students towards the journey of following Christ. Through CHIC, we want to see students be: a Christ-centered community (Genesis 28:3); confident in their relationship with Christ (Romans 8:38-39); committed to doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly wih their God (Micah 6:8).
